· Matches three colors

· Matches objects by color, shape, and size

· Understand “more”

· Names primary colors

· Matches object to picture of object

· Includes imaginary objects in play

· Counts 5 objects

· Sorts shapes/colors

· Tells own age and last name

 

 

· Understand 1,200 to 2,000 words

· Knows “In front of” and “behind”

· Says 800 to 1,000 words

· Tells how common objects are used

· Beginning of question asking stage using “what, “who”, “why”, and “how many”

· Speaks using 3 to 5 word sentences

 

 

· Engages in make-believe and pretend play

· Says “please” and “thank you”

· Plays well for brief time in groups of 2 or 3 children

· Shares toys

· Usually takes turns

· Shows empathy for others

· Greets familiar person by hugging

· Builds pyramid of 6 blocks

· Understands “tallest,” “biggest,” “same,” “more”

· Draws stick figures

· Developing a sense of time

· Can name colors, body parts

· Can name most letter of the alphabet

 

 

· Understands 2,000—2,500 words Uses five to six words in a sentence

· Speech is fully understandable

· Says  1,500—2,000 words

· Tells familiar stories without picture cues

 

 

· Shows pride in accomplishments

· Shows concern and sympathy for others

· Asks to use other person’s belongings

· Plays dress-up

· Usually prefers playing with other children to playing alone
