FACULTY AND STAFF
My name is Beverly Woods and I love teaching kindergarten at Lockhart School!
I began my teaching career upon graduating with a degree in Early Childhood Education in 1979.
Here are some important facts concerning my education:
· Graduated Union High School in 1975
· Graduated USC Union in 1977 with a Associate of Arts Degree
· Graduated USC Columbia in 1979 with a Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education
· Graduated Columbia College in 2007 with a Masters Degree in Divergent Learning
If you noticed the huge gap between 1979 and 2007, most of those years I was busy raising my wonderful children, Jessica and Jeremy, who I love both equally with all my heart. In 2002 I became a grandmother of the most precious, sweet and loving little girl, Makenna. Makenna brings so much joy and pleasure to my life.
I dont have many hobbies, but I do love listening to music, singing and watching nature. I love living in the country and enjoy the views and sounds that surround my home. I attend and worship at Philippi Baptist Church. I believe in a strong faith in Jesus Christ.
I have received Teacher of the Year twice in previous years, but this recognition is minimal in comparison to the pleasure I feel seeing my students grow and mature as learners. I hope to continue teaching for many more years to come. And by the way, did I forget to say I LOVE SCHOOL!

As a member of the PTO Board, I listen to ideas and concerns from people within our school and community to help us serve our community and school in the best possible way.
I served on the School Improvement Council for the 2012 -2013 school year. I met with the principal, other teachers, and members of the community to help implement programs that would be beneficial to our students at Lockhart and to the community as well.
