Special Services

About Us

As of October 2017, Union County provides Special Education services to approximately 659 students with disabilities ages 3 to 21 under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act of 2004. Union County School District provides a continuum of Special Education and Related Services for students with disabilities in accordance with state and federal regulations. These services include but are not limited to screenings, evaluations, special education (including inclusion, resource support, and self-contained classes), and related services (such as nursing, transportation, occupational therapy, and physical therapy). 

Our Mission

The Department of Special Services provides leadership and support in the planning, implementation, and improvement of services for students with disabilities in Union County.  The Department of Special Services supports the vision and mission of Union County Schools by supervising and coordinating the provision of special education and related services, the implementation of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, psychological services, and nursing services.
