Update as of March 24, 2020

Media Release 3-24-20 As a result of the Governor’s executive order all South Carolina schools, including Union County Schools, will be closed until April 30, 2020. Your child’s health and well-being continue to remain our top priority. We will continue to provide lunches at our schools and on bus routes for anyone 18 years of age or younger. Our teachers have done a wonderful job transitioning to e-learning and will continue to provide educational opportunities for students to complete at home. Those educational opportunities will be online unless a student does not have access to technology. For those students we will continue to provide printed copies of assignments to be completed and returned to the teacher.

Our school buildings and offices will continue to stay closed to the public. However, our Technology department will continue to check out laptops and make repairs between 8am -11am, Monday-Thursday at 120 Lakeside Drive. Please continue to communicate with your student’s teachers and principal as we continue to work through these unprecedented times. Thank you for all that you are doing to help support our students and our schools.

I am reminded of a quote from NFL Coach Pete Carroll, “It comes down to taking care of the people in your organization and making them the best they can be – not giving up on them and never failing to be there for them.” We each are a part of this organization – we are One Union!

Union County Schools will be closed through April 30 to
prevent the spread of the Coronavirus
(COVID 19).  Updates regarding online learning and support for students will be sent to parents and  students through email, phone calls, UCSD Facebook and posted at www.union.k12.sc.us.

UCSD Food Services

In order to continue serving the children of Union County and better protect everyone, UCSD Food and Nutrition Services will be changing their current pick up and delivery schedule for providing meals for breakfast and lunch for all children ages 18 and under (and special needs adults up to age 21).

On Thursday, April 2, each child will receive two (2) breakfasts and two (2) lunches
(1 each for Thursday and Friday).

Starting on Monday, April 6, please note the following changes:

Monday, April 6, 2020:  Meals picked up and delivered by bus will be for three days (Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday) for a total of three (3) breakfasts and three (3) lunches.

Thursday, April 9, 2020:  Meals picked up and delivered by bus will be for two days
(Thursday and Friday) for a total of two (2) breakfasts and two (2) lunches.

This new Monday and Thursday schedule will be in effect until further notice.

Just as a reminder per USDA regulations, children must be visibly present in order to receive meals.
Continued drive-thru and pick-up service (11:30 AM - 1:00 PM) will be available at all school locations, and meals delivered on bus routes (11:00 AM - 1:00 PM) will continue.  Please keep in mind that all meals (breakfasts and lunches) will contain perishable items and hot food items for lunch will need to be eaten immediately.  All other items will need to be refrigerated upon receipt and held at 40 degrees or below.  Please discard any perishable items after 3 days!

If you have any questions, please call UCSD Food and Nutrition Services at (864) 429-1748.

Thank you for allowing us to serve you!
