Medical Terminology Course

The Union County Career & Technology Center is proud to announce the launch of its first Honors-Level Medical Terminology course, offering students a rigorous and engaging opportunity to prepare for future careers in the healthcare industry.

Designed to develop a working knowledge of the language of health professions, this course equips students with the foundational skills needed to thrive in medical and allied health fields. Through studying prefixes, suffixes, roots, combining forms, and abbreviations, students will build a strong medical vocabulary. Utilizing a body systems approach, they will learn to define, interpret, and pronounce medical terms related to structure and function, pathology, diagnosis, clinical procedures, and pharmacology.

This honors-level class challenges students with problem-solving activities and real-world applications, enabling them to interpret, construct, and apply medical terminology commonly used in healthcare settings. This course may serve as a valuable step toward advanced health science education.
